Absence of Ginzburg-Landau mechanism for vestigial order in the normal phase above a two-component superconductor

چکیده
A two-component superconductor may hypothetically support a vestigial order phase above its superconducting transition temperature, with rotational or time-reversal symmetry spontaneously broken while remaining nonsuperconducting. This has been suggested as an explanation for the observed normal state nematicity of nematic ${M}_{x}{\mathrm{Bi}}_{2}{\mathrm{Se}}_{3}$. We examine condition this to occur within Ginzburg-Landau theory parameter fluctuations, on both and chiral sides theory. Contrary prior theoretical results, we rule out large portion space possible order. argue that very extreme anisotropy is one prerequisite formation stable via mechanism, which likely not met in real materials.

On compound vortices in a two-component Ginzburg-Landau functional
We study the structure of vortex solutions in a Ginzburg–Landau system for two complex valued order parameters. We consider the Dirichlet problem in the disk in R2 with symmetric, degree-one boundary condition, as well as the associated degree-one entire solutions in all of R2. Each problem has degree-one equivariant solutions with radially symmetric profile vanishing at the origin, of the same...

On the solution of the modified Ginzburg-Landau type equation for one-dimensional superconductor in presence of a normal layer
We perform an analytical and numerical study of the crossover from the Josephson effect to the bulk superconducting flow for two identical one-dimensional superconductors, co-existing with a layer of normal material. A generalized Ginzburg-Landau (GL) model, proposed by S.J. Chapman, Q. Du and M.D. Gunzburger [1] was used in modeling the whole structure. When the thickness of the normal layer i...
متن کاملGinzburg-landau Theory of Vortex Phase Diagram in Layered Type Ii Superconductor
Various macroscopic phenomena seen in high temperature superconductors (HTSC) under nonzero magnetic fields have inspired much interest in studying the phase diagram of vortex states of three dimensional (3D) layered type II superconductors. Experimentally, thermodynamic and transport phenomena have been intensively examined mainly in YBCO [1-3] and BSCCO [4]. The resistive broadening [5] in th...
